Consciousness Studies is a new, rapidly evolving, highly interdisciplinary field that includes physics, philosophy, psychology, sociology, religion, art, computer science, mathematics, cognitive science, neuroscience, biology, anthropology, and linguistics. In the early 1990s, most scientists considered consciousness taboo, but by the early 2000s many considered it the most important unsolved problem in science.
